On Thursday, October 29, St. Joseph’s Home held its 2nd annual wine tasting. The evening started with St. Xavier High Schools’ Jazz Band and student volunteers greeting guests at the door with music and butler styled passed appetizers. After a quick stop at the registration table the self-guided tour of the Home had begun. First stop was the auditorium where guests enjoyed heavy hor’dourves and were enchanted with the melodies of oboist Katherine Alberts and violinist Isabella Christensen. There were several wines to sample provided by Jerry Rogers and Party Mart. Down the hall the craft room was transformed into a theatre of sorts with a painting demonstration by Ben Reynolds. On the menu, jumbo shrimp was the headliner and additional wines to sample. Just outside the craft room was Louisville’s own Pat Sheehan working on another of his beautiful and sought after murals. This banquet for the senses did not end there, Harry Pickens provided beautiful music in the chapel and sweet treats could be found in the activity room. The event was very well attended and captured by the Voice Tribune’s own Bill Wine.
We hope you were able to join us this year and will make plans to come back in 2016.
