Did you know back in the day on Mardi Gras also known as Shrove Tuesday people would prepare for Lent by using all their rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar and make pancakes? To keep this tradition we used pancakes in very unique way for our Mardi Gras party! We took frozen pancakes and made teams of one resident and one employee. They tossed a pancake back and forth. Each time they successfully get the pancake to the other person the staff person moves back. And the next game was our Pancake Relay Race with Residents and Staff. Each group of five tries to see who can be the fastest and get their pancake to the end of the line and drop it in a bucket. The last game was a high pancake toss. The residents then the employees competed against each other to see who could to try and toss a pancake up as high as it would go and catch it was the winner. Mother Chantal was the Judge of all the games.
After all the games were completed the Administration Ladies served hot pancakes to everyone will a variety of toppings to choose from.
